坊間許多英語教學機構,不時迎合中西方各種文化節日舉辦各式活動或氣氛營造,
往往不經意地忽略了節日背後代表的意義。
今天適逢西洋情人節
太平洋英語的孩子有機會了解節日來源之餘,並將這份真誠的人文意涵流傳開來:
Valentine’s Day Mystery Box
– Wrap a box and lid with Valentine paper
- Place a valentine treat with clues that lead to the treat, inside the box
- Invite students to write about what they think is inside the box throughout the day, and why
- Collect all guesses and reveal what the surprise is at the end.
– Explore Concepts of Friendship (Build Self-Esteem)
- Make collaborative cards that children will read again and again
- Let students use a heart template to trace and cut out a large heart.
- Ask students to write their names in the center of the heart (large)
- Have students place their cards on their desks, along with markers/colored pencils.
- Have students rotate to each classmate’s desk and write a compliment on that child’s heart.
- i.e. you have a nice smile, I like your hat, you have cool shoes, you draw well, you tell funny stories…

者的心境在道出讚美的當下,才是最美的
) - (此外,我們還細心地教孩子如何讚美他人;例如給孩子一些思索的方向,讓孩子知道原來有這麼多小事情都是值得被說出來的,不見得是什麼感人肺腑或是豐功偉業的事蹟,只是一份好的感覺都值得被表達出來。更重要的是,要面帶微笑喔!因為對方聽你說話時,不只是聽你的語言,而是"感受"你的語言)
